All you need: 1. Valid passport or foreigner’s permanent residence card 2. A photo The photo must be a one-inch square color shot of your head and shoulders against a white background. You can either hand in the paper copy as well as the application documents, or upload it in advance via the WeChat official account-"Guangzhou People's Social Security". To upload your photo, follow this WeChat official account. Tap "Social Security > Social Security Card > Social Security Card Photo Upload > Upload and Check for Others". Select the country/region and document type and enter the ID number, name and other information and upload your photo. When it’s been checked and approved, a photo receipt number will be issued to you(within 1 to 5 working days). Just show the receipt number while you are applying for your card at the branch.
